Facebook Case Study
Facebook apps under fire and particularly the popular application-FarmVille. An investigation by the Wall Street Journal says Facebook applications are spilling Facebook ID information out into the world and making it simple for advertisers and firms to grab your info and sell it.
This Facebook privacy leak affects almost every Facebook user even if you lock your privacy settings right down. It breaks Facebook’s own rules. Information from locked pages can end up seeping out into other areas of Facebook.
Facebook applications exposing your Facebook ID is a big issue because it can be tied to your own information . Facebook says, “A Facebook user ID may inadvertently be shared by a user’s browser or by an application but that does not permit access to anyone’s private information on Facebook.” It says it is set to introduce new features to battle the issue.
The WSJ investigation claims three of the biggest Facebook apps including Zynga’s Farmville and Frontierville games have been transmitting personal information about users friends to outside companies. That means even if you’ve stayed far, far away from Farmville, you could still find your details have escaped from Facebook’s walled garden.
The Facebook ID is a public part of any profile. You can use it to look up a person’s name using a standard web browser, giving you the nugget of information you require to hunt down more information. The WSJ found at least one firm which has linked Facebook ID information with its own databases which it sells to advertisers. However the company claim that was unintentional.
A Zynga spokesperson also told the WSJ: “Zynga has a strict policy of not passing personally identifiable information to any third parties. We look forward to working with Facebook to refine how web technologies work to keep people in control of their information.”

1. Indeed true friends are hard to come by, so when you find one hold on to them. Keep in contact for as long as possible and don't let them slip through your fingers. Last time, at the last day of school you will see people taking down information from their friends to keep in contact. However now all we have to do is log on to
and add them as friend. It is so simple that the most difficult thing is to spell your friend's name correctly!
2. Oh no! Lost contact with your friend from a long time ago like in kindergarten? Only remember their name? Well fret no more it's
to the rescue! Just type their name and long lost friends shall be found. Found your friend but not sure which is them? Check their profile pictures and you will know if it is the right friend. If not, keep looking!
3. Phone bills get more and more each month? These days, it is so expensive to send messages to friends and costs so much to just chat with them! Well you can chat with friends on
! For FREE!!! Bet whenever you see the word 'free' you will be overjoyed right? If you are wondering how I jnow that it shall be because we are all the same. So how tempting is this? Free(except the electricity bills).
4. Ever felt so bored your brain would pop out? Or bored to tears with nothing to do but nothing? Well
has got it covered too! So many games and applications for you to use. Just search for what you like and feel like playing, and play it!

Cyber Wellness Tips
If you don’t know how to swim, you wear/use floats; if you don’t know how to rollerblade, use head, elbow, hand and knee guards. So even when you use the internet, protect yourself. So here are some things to consider...
1. Learn how to protect yourself by creating COOL names and COOL means:
No wait! Come back! I still got to tell you 3 ways to protect yourself!
1. Learn how to protect yourself by creating COOL names and COOL means:
- Cannot reveal gender & age
- Original
- Out of this world
- something you Like
No wait! Come back! I still got to tell you 3 ways to protect yourself!
2. Don't tell them any of your private information to them and give weirdo names like the ones on top. Also never ever go out with them if you don't know them well as they might no be who they really are! So be careful... And if they keep pestering you just ignore them or tell an adult like your teacher or parents.
3. So careful what you post if you don't want to offend anyone. However it would be so boring if all the posts are not funny so? Well sometimes you have to know your limit, if you think your friend do not mind you teasing them a little it is alright but do not go overboard just a little would do. And don't tease the wrong people as some cannot really take jokes so watch what you say and try not to offend anyone!
4. Be careful not to post something like your address or private information as anyone can access it. However there is no need to lie to protect yourself as that will make you a habitual liar!
5. Also remember that your online identity is public as it is freely accessible to anyone and it is not within your control.
6. Information online maybe unregulated. So only use recommended web-sites and be specific in what you are searching for, not forgetting to check the date and using the information only if it is current and not outdated. Also do not use comprehensive or biased information.
7. How can you be sure you got the right information? Well just like how you check with your friends if your home work is done correctly! You go to other sites to check if the have the same and correct information.
Yay! Hope I helped! Byes to all reading this!

Dangers Of Facebook
Everything has it's dangers. Everything as in every single thing from eating to walking down the steps to playing at the playground. Whatever you thought of when i say 'everything' is included.
Don't believe me? Eating can result in choking, walking down steps can result in tripping and playing at the playground can result in falling. See? Told you!
Ever met some random person online that wanted to be your friend? Well be careful, when that happens build up your security wall and be careful. As it is possible for thrm to find you.
Think Before You Write
If you think what youare going to post will cause your friends to get angry don't post it. Don't post anything on Facebook that you would regret. This is because you cannot entirely delete something off the internet as it will only be overwritten. So be careful what you post if you don't want to offend anyone.
Yay! 3 cheers for me! I just need to post one more danger! Woohooo!!!
Oh no! I don't know what to write anymore! Nevermind I'm awesome so I think of something, no worries.
Don't believe me? Eating can result in choking, walking down steps can result in tripping and playing at the playground can result in falling. See? Told you!
So does Facebook have it's dangers? Well of course it does isn't Facebook also a part of everything? So all this talk about danger is like going round in circles, what's the point? Well lets go straight to the point: FACEBOOK HAS IT'S DANGERS!!!
Yes it is fun but we still have to be careful, even an innocent little baby can whack you with it's toy. So what's the dangers? Watch out, here they come...
I See You...
Yes it is so simple to find a friend on Facebook. Just type your friends name and BINGO! You got it! But if it's so simple to find people, it's just as easy for you to be found. People with ill-intentions can find you as easily as you find your friend-just that they aren't your friends! So don't let your guard down, don't make it so easy to find you.
Hi, Lets Be FriendsEver met some random person online that wanted to be your friend? Well be careful, when that happens build up your security wall and be careful. As it is possible for thrm to find you.

No It's Not Private Nor Confidential
You heard right! Nothing you post online is private or confidential like in letters you receive. So that means whatever you post on Facebook is public! Nope, not private, public! Yes so anyone can read what you write so be careful not to post something like your address or private information as anyone can access it. However there is no need to lie to protect yourself as that will make you a habitual liar!
So I just posted 4 dangers of Facebook so listen to me!!! Oh and I shall also end here because through out this whole very long post I have been resisting the urge to write in short form so just in case I should just sign off here so...Bye!
